Editorial policy
Editorial policy
The site's moat is that it is checkable. These are the rules the desk holds itself to on every page.
How we work
Every article on PropertyFacts is commissioned, directed, fact-checked and approved by our editors and content creators. We use AI tools throughout that process, including for research, analysis and checking claims against primary sources. Nothing is published on the strength of a tool's output alone — a person is accountable for every page on this site, and every factual claim traces back to the named source at the foot of the article.
We do not publish sponsored content. No lender, developer, agent or platform pays for coverage here, and no one outside the desk sees an article before it is published or has any say over what it says.
Sourcing
Every factual claim is traceable to a named primary source — legislation, ASIC, the ATO, state revenue offices, the ABS, the RBA, or a lender's own published policy. Aggregators are used only when a primary source is genuinely unavailable, and we say so. When two credible sources disagree, we show both.
Dating and verification
Anything volatile — scheme rules, thresholds, rates — carries an "as at" date and is verified against the current official source at the time of writing, not from memory and not from our own older material. Scheme details change constantly; the date is part of the fact.
Numbers discipline
We state the measurement basis: median versus mean, seasonally adjusted or not, nominal versus real. Data anchors carry their derivation or a link to a methodology note. We do not present predictions as certainty, and we do not forecast.
Corrections
When we get something wrong, we correct it visibly and date the correction. Being checkable means being correctable.
Independence
"Independent" here describes our editorial stance only. It never describes, and never appears alongside, any credit or broking service.
